Irene E. Eskridge, President

South Bend, Indiana Chapter

 

Irene (Adolph) first became a Drifter in 1988.  She has one daughter and one granddaughter.  Irene retired as Director of Personnel and Public Relations for Elkhart Schools after 36 years in education.  Some of her other organizational affiliations are Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, The Indiana Principals Leadership Academy, and the Neal/Marshall Indiana University Alumni Association.  She devotes time to both her church, Olivet AME, and community projects.  In her spare time, Irene enjoys reading, traveling and exercising.

Lisa Johnson-Tonkins, Vice-President

Greensboro, North Carolina Chapter

Lisa (Elbert "JT") joined The Drifters, Incorporated in 1996.  Since becoming a member of The Drifters, Incorporated, Lisa has attended 8 out of 9 conventions.  She has served locally as President, Treasurer and secretary of The Greensboro Chapter of Drifters, Inc.  Lisa has three (3) children and is an attorney with Hunter, Higgins, Miles, Elam and Benjamin, PLLC in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Lisa practices in the area of Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Civil Litigation and Child Support.  Her other organizational affiliations are The Junior League of Greensboro, North Carolina, North Carolina Bar Association, Academy of Trial Lawyers and Black Lawyers Association.
