My Dear Drifter Sisters,
This summer you are invited to go “Cruising with the Norfolk Drifters” on August 12-17, 2008. We have planned a wonderful adventure that will offer you the opportunity to visit “local ports of call” like Hampton, Virginia where you can tour the historical Hampton University, Casemate Museum, and Generals Row at Fort Monroe. We will make a call at Norfolk State University and one evening transfer to the fabulous “Spirit of Norfolk” where we will have a guided tour of the beautiful Norfolk Harbor; see the renowned Naval Base, Maritime Ports and wildlife on the Elizabeth River.
Our Drifter ship will have access to shops galore, and will dock within walking distance to MacArthur Mall, where Dillard’s and Nordstrom are the anchor stores.
On board, we will have a dance instructor to teach the latest line dances. Our restaurants will feature seafood and other local specialties. For our intellectual enlightenment there will be meetings, and discussions to set the future course of the Drifter ship.
During the 52nd National Convention of the Drifters, Inc. and the 40th Anniversary of the Norfolk Drifters, we, the members want to make your journey memorable. Sit back, relax, and let us guide you on a scenic journey, as you cruise with us on the “USS NORFOLK DRIFTER.”
